This past school year I was able to witness first hand what a difference it makes when a child has their basic needs met. When they feel clean, when their hair is combed, when they have a snack… everything from their academics to their behaviors are impacted in a positive manner. Unfortunately, many students at my title 1 school are not able to have these needs met at home. To help meet their needs, I have a goal of offering a compassion cart to our students this year. Someplace they can go when they need a little help freshening up or a snack so they aren’t the only one not eating during snack time.
